Description:   Purpose of Position:
Provide design engineering assistance on complex stimulation lead product development initiatives from concept through release. Generate creative technical solutions to design and manufacturability issues. Serve as a R&D technical resource on cross functional teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be a R&D engineer on stimulation lead projects, developing initial design concepts through successful product testing.

Support the creation and development of new invasive and implantable medical products following established design control procedures
Use advanced scientific and engineering principles to design and evaluate stimulation lead technologies and solve complex problems
Research, generate and document intellectual property
Build prototypes and perform feasibility testing
Investigate and remain abreast of technology advancements
Assist the project team in the achievement of cost and deadline constraints on projects
Interact with customers to assure product and project requirements are fulfilled
Design products for, and assist with, the transfer to manufacturing
Perform tasks required to support production and new product/process development.
Design of prototype and production tooling
Some travel may be required

Qualifications:   Education, Skills and Experience:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 1+ years work experience in the medical device field or equivalent internship experience

Excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication, follow-through and organizational skills
Ability to write protocols, analyze data, interpret results and write technical reports
Work effectively with coworkers at all levels
Ability to complete projects on a timely basis, within scope, and with minimal supervision
Work well in a cross-functional team that includes internal and external customers

Desired: Experience with Solidworks design software, knowledge of plastic and metal component design
